What this touch test checks
As you drag and tap, each finger the screen detects is drawn as its own numbered dot, and a counter records the most touches seen at once. This shows whether every part of the panel responds and how many simultaneous touches your device supports.
Reading the results
Move slowly into the corners and along the edges — a dot that jumps, lags or vanishes marks an area that isn't registering touch properly. Pressing several fingers at once confirms multi-touch; most phones report five or ten points. On a regular computer with a mouse you'll only ever see one dot, which is expected.

- How many fingers can it track?
- It shows every touch point your device reports — most phones handle 5 or 10 at once. The 'Max at once' counter records the highest number seen.
- It doesn't work on my computer — why?
- A regular mouse only has one pointer, so you see a single dot. The multi-touch part needs a touchscreen or trackpad that reports touch.
- Is anything about my touches stored?
- No — touch positions only draw the dots on screen and are never recorded or uploaded.
- It skips or lags in one area — is my screen broken?
- A consistent dead zone or jumpy patch points to a digitiser fault that's often worth a repair check; occasional glitches can be a dirty or wet screen.
- Does a screen protector affect the test?
- A good-quality protector shouldn't; a thick, cracked or poorly fitted one can reduce sensitivity, especially at the edges.
- Why does the dot lag behind my finger?
- Some lag is normal in a browser; native apps feel faster. Large or persistent lag across the whole screen may indicate a performance or hardware issue.
