What this speaker test checks
Playing a clean tone through the left, right or both channels lets you confirm each speaker actually produces sound and that the stereo channels aren't swapped or dead. It's a fast check before a call, a film or a listening session.
What to listen for
When you press Left you should hear the tone only on the left, and the same for Right — if they're reversed, your channels are wired or configured the wrong way round. Silence on one side points to a muted channel, a faulty speaker or an unbalanced audio setting. The test works equally well for built-in speakers, external ones and headphones.
How to use it
- 1Turn your volume up to a comfortable level.
- 2Click Left, Right or Both to play a short tone.
- 3Confirm the sound comes from the expected side — if Left plays on the right, your channels are swapped.
